VdS-FireSafety 2022: GEZE presents innovative solutions and products for optimum fire protection
GEZE will be presenting itself as a competent and reliable provider of comprehensive safety and building systems on 7 and 8 December 2022 at the 9th annual VdS-FireSafety, the industry event for fire protection experts, at the Cologne Exhibition Center. The specialist for innovative door, window and safety technology will be demonstrating the most important features for modern smoke and heat extraction systems and emergency exit systems (RWS), as well as intelligent networking for the individual components, at stand H-00 in Hall 11.1. GEZE is underscoring its innovative leadership through many different new products and product improvements.
We are very glad that the VdS-FireSafety will be held once again after a two-year break due to the coronavirus. This specialised fair is a key platform to discuss the topic of fire protection, which is omnipresent in the building sector, with industry experts and potential customers, and to prove our comprehensive expertise in this area.

At the VdS-FireSafety, GEZE will be presenting myGEZE Control as a next-generation networking solution. With this new, modular platform, the company is focusing on integrating door, window and safety technology via open standards. The advantages of the new solution: automated building processes and central monitoring make the solution more convenient and safer to use. This is particularly important when it comes to fire protection. The system facilitates highly efficient integration into manufacturer-neutral building management, risk management, and CAFM systems.

In addition to clever and reliable networking, the right individual components are needed to ensure that the smoke and heat extraction system and emergency exit system (RWS) can work together optimally. At the specialised fair, GEZE will be demonstrating which components belong in a secure system. The safety specialist will show how simple the interaction between the emergency exit system (RWS), hold-open system and door automation is on a multifunctional door element. The company will be displaying products such as the TZ 320 door control unit, which is designed for universal use in control and protection of networked emergency exits.
In addition, GEZE will be demonstrating how a reliable wireless extension should be constructed. The focus here will be on the new TS 5000 SoftClose door closer, in conjunction with the RSZ 7 smoke switch control unit: with door closers, the biggest challenge is that the door must close safely, on the one hand, to fulfil fire protection requirements. On the other hand, it should not slam into the lock – no matter what changing pressure situations the door is exposed to. The new TS 5000 SoftClose solves these seemingly contradictory requirements. Combined with the RSZ 7 smoke switch control unit, which ensures reliable fire protection even under difficult installation conditions, it can be used to create a reliable and quick closing door system that, at the same time, offers outstanding comfort for building users.
At GEZE, our goal is to create liveable buildings. So this will be the motto under which we will be presenting our E2E services, innovative products and solutions, and our reliable after sales service.

In addition, GEZE will be demonstrating the MBZ 300 N8 SHEV control panel. The compact device is particularly suitable for small and mid-sized buildings as well as staircases. In case of fire, it enables flexible control of small smoke and heat extraction systems. The MBZ 300 N8 is characterised by quick installation and simple commissioning, and can be networked with other MBZ 300 models. Up to 30 of these devices can be connected to form a large smoke and heat extraction system via an optional CAN module. In contrast, a staircase control panel such as the THZ N4 is the best choice for use in rooms where only smoke extraction is needed under building law, such as in staircases. Its integrated ventilation functions ensure optimal air circulation. 4.5 amp output current is sufficient in this application to operate up to four window drives, such as the Slimchain chain drive.
