The new range of window drives from GEZE in a uniform design

Flexibility – networkability – simple installation

GEZE has revised its range of RWA and ventilation drives. The result is a modular portfolio featuring a new uniform, discreet design of "intelligent" drives. So choosing the right single-source drive solution for every application is now even easier. State-of-the-art integrated control technology makes the drives flexible and increases their range of uses: if the usage requirements in the building change, the opening width and the opening speed of the window can simply be adjusted. The flexibility of the drives allows individually configurable, building-specific solutions. The control technology makes it easy to network the drives so that coordinated system solutions can be achieved. New and innovative installation systems ensure quick and convenient commissioning. GEZE uses its comprehensive advisory and planning expertise to implement optimal solutions in conjunction with architects, planners and technicians. The WinCalc calculation program for designing window systems facilitates this.

GEZE Slimchain – the all-rounder
The Slimchain chain drive is available in 300, 500 and 800 millimeter stroke variants together with customizable intermediate lengths so that it can be adapted to a variety of window sizes and opening requirements. "Slim" and compact, the Slimchain is ideal for incorporating into façades.

Slimchain – the all-rounder in the new chain drive range – "slim" and compact

GEZE Powerchain – the powerhouse
The Powerchain is a real powerhouse and can also be used for skylights and light domes. This chain drive is available in 600, 800 and 1,200 millimeter stroke variants. It fulfils all the requirements associated with the need for very large opening widths. Tensile and pressure forces of up to 600 N give it the necessary power to open large, heavy windows quickly and safely. If the smoke and heat extraction is activated, the Powerchain achieves high opening speeds.
The Smart fix installation system – to make things click
The Smart fix installation system makes installing the Slimchain and Powerchain both simple and quick. A click system is used to "clip" the drives onto the consoles. The detachable power supply cable means that there is no problem making structural adjustments during installation or when changing a drive.
GEZE E 920-E 990 – the "invisible" chain drive solution
Profile-integrated technology for puristic design used on small, large and heavy windows is what defines the E 920-E 990 chain drive. The drive and fitting technology is not visible from the outside. Five different stroke variants ranging from 200 to 900 millimeters as well as high tensile forces make the E 920-E 990 even more flexible. The ribbon cabling ensures simple and quick installation in the casement.
The GEZE E 250 NT spindle drive – for large opening widths
The new compact E 250 NT spindle drive covers a wide range of applications and is recommended for façade windows, skylights and light domes. It achieves particularly large opening widths when used in opening and locking systems that are mounted on the profile surface. The E 250 NT is available in eight stroke variants from 100 to 1,000 millimeters. With its maximum tensile and pressure force of 750 N, the E 250 NT can safely open even really large window units. Installation using tried and tested consoles is especially simple.
Intelligent window control using state-of-the-art electronics
The integrated control technology allows a flexible and stepless setting of the drives. They can therefore be ideally adapted to the fire protection and ventilation concept in a building. If the smoke and heat extraction system is activated, they reach their emergency stroke at a speed of up to seventeen millimeters a second. Individual settings of the drive parameters can be configured directly in the factory or on site. An integrated synchronic module ensures real synchronization of up to three windows as well as of up to two locking drives in each case. There is no need for an external control unit. The installation and cabling workload is therefore very low, and commissioning is simple. A DIP switch enables a changing over from solo to syncro operating mode, so that various applications are possible with one single drive.
System safety and future-proofing
Networkability is another advantage of the new control technology. The new GEZE locking drives transform the drives in a modular system solution. Moreover, the windows can be networked via bus systems using the new GEZE drives, as the trend towards building automation is continuing in window technology, too. Interfaces with the building management system and widely used bus systems enable the windows to be incorporated into the building automation system.
Automated windows in the private residential sector
GEZE also offers automatic ventilation "with design" for simpler applications, such as private homes. Accessibility and convenience are becoming more and more important in this area. The ECchain ventilation drive is the powerful entry-level model that can also be used on small fanlights. The integrated stroke adjustment of this chain drive enables it to be adapted to various ventilation requirements.

The new GEZE Levolan 60 sliding door system

Sophisticated aesthetics with a small space requirement

With the compact Levolan 60 modular sliding door system, GEZE has created a new, elegant solution for designing manual sliding doors for interior use which are easy to use and glide effortlessly. Small fitting dimensions and the linear design with a slim, 50-millimetre-high runner track suit every installation situation. Levolan 60 is flexibly designed for installation on a wall, ceiling or a glass fanlight and additionally can be used with all the latest door leaf materials. The discreet fitting technology can be used for door leaf weights of up to 60 kg. Completely integrated in the runner track, it optimises the overall design. Developed as a flexible modular system, Levolan 60 enables the multiple use of individual system components and consequently a reduced number of individual parts.
The Levolan SoftStop draw-in damping, which can optionally be integrated in the runner track, provides safety and convenience. The sliding door leaves are guided gently and safely into the end position, with no more banging into the frame or buffer. It's almost impossible to trap your fingers. Special maintenance-free carrier rollers ensure outstanding load distribution and almost silent running. The frontally accessed integrated cam adjustment allows for the convenient and continuous balancing of construction tolerances, thus guaranteeing the exact leaf movement once installed. To ensure a reliable long service life, the carrier rollers have been TÜV-tested for 100,000 functional cycles according to DIN EN 1527. Removal protection is automatically activated upon height adjustment of the door leaf, thus providing additional safety.
Levolan Smart fix installation system – quick and easy installation of fittings
The installation of fittings is fast and straightforward from the front using only one installation tool. All the installation and adjustment tasks can be done using just one Allen key and one open-ended spanner. No leaf processing is necessary for installation of the draw-in damping either. Cover panels and end coverings are simply clipped in place and can thus be mounted easily without additional tools or screws.

She made GEZE one of the global market leaders in the field of door, window and safety technology: CEO Brigitte Vöster-Alber (middle), right: her father Walter Vöster, left: her grandfather Reinhold Vöster

GEZE celebrates the company's 150th jubilee
As an independent medium-sized family business, GEZE can look back on 150 years of history. Since its beginnings in 1863, GEZE has developed into a global market leader in the field of innovative buildings technology. GEZE will celebrate the company jubilee with various events spread over the year. A jubilee newspaper, a jubilee book and a jubilee microsite will invite people to find out about the company's history and many other interesting GEZE-related topics.

"GEZE in motion since 1863"
The jubilee motto contains important company objectives: innovative strength, and focus on the future. They give rise to the most exacting requirements in terms of quality and the usefulness of the products, international outlook, solid growth and social and environmental responsibility. GEZE regards itself as being globally committed to these guiding principles and it sets people in motion and spurs them on to create top quality products which set doors and windows in motion. GEZE also sets technology in motion and is proud of the major impact that it has had on building technology over one and a half centuries.
From a small craftsman's business to a global player
GEZE has its origins in the company Dreherei Vöster & Co. which was founded in 1863 in Göppingen. Reinhold Vöster could have been the third generation to continue managing it if he had not struck out in a different direction during the turbulent industrialisation of Stuttgart. As a mechanical engineer he bought and founded his own hardware companies. He smoothed the path to today's company through the merger with Vereinigte Baubeschlagfabriken Gretsch & Co. GmbH in 1924. At that time the most successful products were the so-called transport fittings for sliding doors, which came to be used in buses, trams and train carriages throughout Europe. They were also installed beyond Europe and in the Zeppelin airships. Olympic gold was won with the legendary GEZE ski bindings. During the construction boom of the post-war years and the economic miracle, there was hardly a balcony door or a sash window that wasn't operated using the HUBA lever gear door fitting. GEZE was a key player in the start of the automatic door era in the 1960s.
Reinhold Vöster was 84 years old when he handed his lifetime's work over to his 24 year old granddaughter, Brigitte Vöster, in 1968. She ushered in the process of growth and internationalisation which still predominates today. In 1980 a brand name became the new name of the company. Vereinigte Baubeschlagfabriken Gretsch & Co. GmbH became GEZE GmbH, which from then onwards concentrated on "solutions" for doors and windows.
GEZE introduces the "intelligent building"
Today GEZE is one of the building industry's largest suppliers of premium products worldwide. Accessibility for all users, multifunctionality, interconnectivity and operation via the Internet will define the doors and windows of the future. The product range offers complete solutions which combine various door and window functions in one system, realising the "smart building" vision of the future today. GEZE solutions are developed in its own technology centre. The company has 354 patents and patent applications in Germany, with as many as 559 in other countries. By providing innovative services, GEZE pursues a holistic approach and it provides personalised support to all those who are involved in bringing a building into being – architects, specialist planners, door and window manufacturers and the craft trades. The company has received the "Top 100" award for its innovative strengths for the fifth time, and the ARCHITECTS PARTNER AWARD (APA) for outstanding advice and sales expertise for the fourth time.
GEZE in the buildings of the world
Prestigious buildings throughout the world are equipped with GEZE products. The new Acropolis Museum in Athens for example, or the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart, the Palacio de las Artes Reina Sofía opera house in Valencia, or the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
Global and local simultaneously
With almost 2,500 employees and 31 subsidiaries – including 27 outside Germany – GEZE is represented in 110 countries. Its global sales and service network combining cutting edge technology with professional technical support is one of the major factors driving its growth. A subsidiary with an associated production site in China which has 450 employees and a further production site in Serbia meet the increasing demand in the Asian and eastern European markets. They both consolidate GEZE's locations here in Germany and free up capacity for the high-tech product areas. As the largest employer in the town of Leonberg, GEZE is publicly committed to its head office in Germany, in which it invests continually – most recently in a state of the art distribution centre and additional modern administration buildings.
Cross-generation cooperation
Remaining an independent family business is one of GEZE’s guiding principles. Growth from its own resources and independence from third parties secure its future. The Chief Executive Officer, Brigitte Vöster-Alber, has embodied this continuity for 45 years. Her husband, Hermann Alber, supports her as the Managing Director of Technology. Three of the four children in the family have positions of responsibility in the company. The second eldest daughter has become a doctor.
An excellent employer
Staff development has been reflected for years in the winning of prestigious awards. GEZE has once again laid claim to the titles Top Employer in Germany 2013 and Top Employer for Engineers 2013 and is proud to offer its employees excellent prospects for the future.
Social responsibility
GEZE sees itself as part of society. It has a long tradition of social commitment. The activities that it undertakes range from financial support for medical/social, cultural and educational institutions to spontaneous relief operations. The number of charitable projects has been increased to mark the company's jubilee. The GEZE website
has reports on the current charity campaigns. With its "Donations instead of Gifts" campaign, GEZE is asking all its customers, partners, suppliers and staff to make a donation to the Stuttgart-based "Olgäle-Stiftung für das kranke Kind e.V." [Olgäle Foundation for Sick Children] instead of giving anniversary gifts. At the end of the year GEZE will double the total amount of the donations! To find out more about this, just go to the jubilee microsite at <link http://www.150-years-geze.com/en/150.html _blank external-link-new-window>www.150-years-geze.com.

In GEZE's jubilee year: social commitment throughout the world

GEZE supports the "Clean Hands for our Children" campaign in Serbian schools.

As a company which fully recognises its social responsibility, GEZE is rooted in society. Its numerous subsidiaries, which operate as local companies in various countries around the world, also live up this responsibility. GEZE's social commitment is wide-ranging, extending from financial support for medical/social and cultural institutions to schools, charity sporting events and spontaneous relief operations.
To mark the company's 150th jubilee, which GEZE is celebrating with numerous activities this year, support is being given to social projects throughout the jubilee year. One of these is the "hygiene" sponsorship with which the Serbian subsidiary in Zrenjanin, GEZE d.o.o., is supporting the "Clean Hands for our Children" campaign. Funding is being provided for hand wash gels and hand hygiene facilities to be supplied to a primary school in the town of 90,000 inhabitants. The aim is to stem infection hazards through improved hand hygiene in schools, and to make a contribution to promoting the children's health.
The campaign was initiated by the Serbian "Our children" (Naša deca) foundation and the Belgrade-based pharmaceuticals wholesaler, Euro Atlantic d.o.o., which has already funded 10,000 soap dispensers for schools throughout Serbia. They are being installed by the local authorities. The nationwide campaign, which is supported by the Serbian Ministry of Education, is being accompanied by presentations and workshops on the importance of hygiene in schools. Reports on the current charity campaigns are running continuously on the GEZE website during the anniversary year.

The Serbian subsidiary, GEZE d.o.o., is supporting the nationwide "Clean Hands for our Children" campaign by providing funds for the provision of hand wash gel in a primary school in Zrenjanin.
By the way: GEZE's product range contributes to improved hygiene in relation to doors, above all in public buildings, hospitals, schools or hotels: so as to minimise the risks of infection which arise through touching door handles or push buttons on doors that get a lot of use, GEZE provides fully automatic sliding door systems with non-contact opening and closing.

Another reason to celebrate in our jubilee year: GEZE is awarded the ARCHITECTS PARTNER AWARD (APA)

The architecture trade magazines AIT and xia established which companies architects and interior...

In the competition category "Doors, gates, locking systems and fittings", GEZE as a whole was once again commended for its outstanding advisory and sales expertise and was awarded the APA silver prize. This places GEZE's property consultancy teams among the "Top 10" in Germany. This is the fourth time in a row since 2009 that GEZE has won either gold or silver.
The official awards ceremony took place at the AIT Architects Partner Symposium held in the Sancta Klara vaults beneath the Stadtpalais hotel by the Roman tower in Cologne. Only the ten most frequently mentioned companies within a competition category were included in the assessment. The gold award was only awarded once in each category. All other rankings were given the silver award.
In an unprompted survey with no pre-set answers AIT and xia put questions to almost 28,000 architects and interior designers in seven competition categories. 2,780 of them responded and named their favourites. Awards were given to companies with sales and consultancy teams which provide outstanding advice and support to Germany's architects and interior designers. The APA is intended to make a contribution towards further improving the quality of specialist technical and architectural advice provided to architects.
GEZE in motion since 1863! – 150 years of cutting-edge innovation and customer service
Remaining constantly in motion whilst looking to the future is an important prerequisite for continually enhancing and optimising know-how, products and services. Which is why the "GEZE in motion since 1863" motto marking the company's 150th jubilee is a forward-looking one this year. In order to be able to offer architects solutions for the standard door, window and safety systems of the future today, GEZE observes and analyses emerging trends in modern architecture, construction and buildings technology in great detail. Just as important is intensive two-way communication with architects, planners, and building operators and users. The trend in buildings technology is towards the "smart home", in other words automated and networked solutions which are becoming increasingly unobtrusive in visual terms. They are incorporated into web-based systems so that doors and windows can be monitored and operated from anywhere in the world. GEZE converts defining trends into new and innovative products which are developed in its own technology centre.
GEZE added value – innovative products and comprehensive support wherever you are
The fact that GEZE's property experts have become one of the most sought-after teams for offering specialist expertise to architects is also down to our holistic approach to property management. GEZE offers perfectly coordinated solutions in every building phase from a single source. Additional service is a matter of course. Its wealth of experience garnered over more than two decades of completing construction projects of all sizes for a whole variety of different uses both in Germany and abroad is passed on by the company to architects, planners and builders. National and international property consultancy teams are available for this purpose so that GEZE also provides assistance to German architects who operate abroad, or who would like to start doing so. The experts on other countries that we have at our head office in Leonberg and the property consultants in our worldwide subsidiary companies are fully up to speed with local conditions and national building laws.
Individual aesthetic concepts and ideas can be implemented in conformance with standards and guidelines. GEZE provides assistance with the development of new ideas and with designing, planning, and tendering, as well as during the implementation phase. Naturally this includes the devising of all the technically feasible solutions and the coordination of the interfaces with the pre- and post-construction trades every bit as much as the creation of drawings for specific properties, door lists, wiring diagrams and much more besides. The "property" services provided by GEZE are supplemented by events for architects, including seminars and presentations on specific issues of relevance to architects or on new legal developments. GEZE's architectural consultants are fully equipped with mobile product presentations. GEZE products are also showcased in the showrooms or window and door studios of many of our partner businesses.

Double award in our jubilee year for exemplary HR management

GEZE receives the prestigious titles of Top Employer in Germany 2013 and Top Employer for Engineers...

Furthering the development of our employees in a modern and targeted way forms part of GEZE's strategic focus. Today GEZE received the Top Employer in Germany 2013 and the Top Employer for Engineers 2013 awards, the third and second occasion respectively on which it has received each annual award. Both titles are awarded by the CRF Institute, an independent research company which certifies leading employers around the world in the fields of human resources management and strategy.
GEZE was one of 118 German companies to qualify for the Top Employer in Germany award, and one of 30 qualifying for Top Employer for Engineers. Both certification studies use international standards to determine the German companies which are at the forefront of excellence in personnel management. The best and most forward-looking employers were identified by an independent panel of experts in the course of a demanding multi-stage audit process. GEZE meets the high standards set in relation to the evaluation criteria "Career Development", "Primary and Secondary Benefits" – in other words pay and additional financial incentives based on performance –, "Working Conditions", "Work-Life Balance" and " Culture Management", as well as "Innovation Management" which is an additional specific criterion for the Top Employer for Engineers 2013 award. GEZE obtained the highest scores achievable in this certification process for the "Primary Benefits" and "Innovation Management" criteria.
"Our innovative strengths are determined by our employees. They are our most valuable asset. GEZE invests in their development in a targeted manner and creates the necessary freedom for this to take place. Only by doing this have we succeeded in becoming one of the global market leaders in our industry today. In the year which marks GEZE's 150th jubilee we are proud to be able to offer our employees the very best opportunities for their future. As a technology company we are particularly pleased to be among the most sought-after employers for engineers," says Brigitte Vöster-Alber, the Chief Executive Officer of GEZE GmbH.
Ideal conditions for engineers

GEZE nurtures talented employees and develops their potential in order to secure its continual growth and further development. One of the company's great traditional strengths is the targeted development of specialists and managers from among the existing staff. Many of them have started their careers as apprentices, study-release employees, or trainees. GEZE also offers attractive development opportunities to direct entrants to the company – either young professionals or people with significant career experience – at its headquarters in Leonberg or in its worldwide subsidiaries. GEZE's innovative strengths open up interesting opportunities for engineers. They are given the opportunity to see the development of a product through from the initial idea up to the point when it is ready for large-scale production. This means that within the development process for a product they are able to take on responsibility – over and above specialist tasks – at a very early stage and to gather references for their further development.
Career and family – a matter of course at GEZE

It is almost symbolic that GEZE becomes the holder of both awards as from 8th March, International Women's Day. Because GEZE is leading by example in this regard, too. At about 27 %, the proportion of women that it has in management positions is extraordinarily high for a technology company. GEZE does not need a formal "quota". The advancement of skilled female staff has long been firmly embedded in its HR policies. The compatibility of having a career and a family is likewise a matter of course at GEZE – even in management positions. Hours of work which are modelled to suit individual employees and part-time and home office positions for women in certain fields of activity have existed for many years now. GEZE has a families programme to assist its employees in looking for suitable child care provision.

From product development to production and sales, GEZE works in accordance with the latest...

As a company for which sustainable management represents one of its guidelines and one which makes an active contribution to energy efficient building with its products, environmental protection is for GEZE an essential part of its daily work. The leading provider of door, window and safety technology has dedicated itself to the continual improvement of the ecology of its products and production facilities as well as the responsible management of natural resources. “For GEZE, sustainability is an issue which affects us all, which is why the certification of our environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001 is an important step and, at the same time, evidence of our commitment to environmental protection,” says Brigitte Vöster-Alber, Chief Executive Officer of GEZE GmbH.
The ISO 14001 standard is valid worldwide and outlines the requirements which an environmental management system should meet in order to receive certification. GEZE’s environmental management system was examined for compliance with the standard requirements of ISO 14001 and certified by the Dekra Certification GmbH.
The environmental management of GEZE coordinates and outlines environmental activities across all company divisions, whereby the goal is to achieve sustainable environmental compatibility and a continual improvement in the environmental performance. Important environmental aspects were defined and evaluated for this. With its own environmental management representative, the company continually strives to reduce energy consumption and guarantee the responsible management of limited resources. This occurs with e.g. the aid of modern light controlling, energy efficient production and conveyor facilities and, not least, through the responsible behaviour of all employees.
The company’s full commitment in environmental protection is also reflected in further current measures: as part of the continual improvement of the ecology of the GEZE products, the door closer series TS 4000 and TS 5000 were assessed in accordance with the challenging regulations of the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) on the basis of ISO 14025 and awarded the EPD sustainability certificate. With its products, GEZE also helps to achieve points in LEED and DGNB certification which contributes to successful building certification.
EPDs – building blocks towards a building's sustainability rating
The EPD is an eco-label that is recognised across the world. As an information system for the environmental performance of building products and components, it is the precondition for a building's sustainability rating. An eco-balance – which shows the environmental effects that a building product has throughout its entire life cycle – represents the crux of the EPD. The EPDs for the GEZE door closers are, therefore, building blocks that contribute to the overall rating of the environmental performance of a building. The significance of EPDs is demonstrated in the increasing prevalence of building certifications. EPDs can be used for the sustainability certification of buildings, for example by the international rating systems BREEAM and LEED, by the systems used by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) or by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development.
The transparency and measurability of building products
Against the backdrop of active measures to reduce CO2 emissions and the necessity to save energy that is linked with this, EPDs represent both a challenge and an opportunity. They create transparency in the field of environmental quality and improve the assessability of building products. They are being increasingly required in calls to tender from architects, planners and builders. Manufacturers can use EPDs to fulfil the sustainability requirements stipulated in the new EU Building Products Device, which forms the basis of the CE certification and will apply across Europe from 1st July 2013. Sustainability increases value. This is why real estate investors are focusing on aspects of sustainability not only for "Green Buildings", but also when it comes to the modernisation of existing buildings.
A rating based on internationally agreed standards
The EPDs for the GEZE door closer systems are based on an evidence-based sustainability inspection that spans the entire product life cycle. They have been compiled in line with the "Schlösser und Beschläge" (Locks and Fittings) PCR (Product Category Rules) by the panel of experts from the German Institute for Construction and the Environment. They encompass all relevant information about the eco-balance of the door closers and reveal the primary products used, their origins and the manufacturing process. The use of resources and energy consumption are also taken into account. In addition, the EPD considers environmental compatibility, product life span, recycling and disposal. Structural-physical and technical criteria, proofs and inspections, e.g. relating to the materials used and the production, are also documented. The transparent, neutral and verifiable disclosure of all of the information contained in the EPD, including the eco-balance data, is in line with international standards. Standards ISO 14025 (Environmental Declarations Type III) and ISO 21930 (Environmental Declaration of Building Products) are used to substantiate building products. ISO 14025 is applied to building products that are used within a system of building products in a building, such as door closers. The door closers were also assessed in line with EN 15804 as part of European sustainability policy.
In addition to the positive eco-balance aspects, door closers are sustainable in view of their actual function. They prevent doors from staying open when they should be closed and ensure that they close immediately. They keep cold air outside and contribute to savings in energy used for heating. The EPDs for the TS 4000 and TS 5000 series of door closers do not just bear witness to an environmental responsibility and open up improved market potential in the growing Green Building market. The eco-balance results also provide GEZE with concrete points of reference for the continuous optimisation of the products, the production processes and facilities in terms of environmental aspects. GEZE works in line with the latest environmental standards from product design and production to sales to maintenance and after-sales service. GEZE’s environmental management has been certified in line with the international standard DIN EN ISO 14001. GEZE also promotes sustainable construction as an active member of the Institute for Construction and the Environment and the DGNB.

GEZE in motion since 1863. The jubilee motto stands for 150 years of motion.

For one and a half centuries, GEZE, with its products and systems, has been setting in motion doors, windows and not least technologies which have had a major influence on building technology.
Motion and innovative strength stand for the system character of GEZE products as complete solutions from a single source. They fulfil individual requirements for doors and windows in complex systems. Motion and the system philosophy of GEZE products are symbolised by the architecture and the design of the trade fair booth. Round elements which – when joined – form a circle. An automatically rotating circular platform in the centre of the booth serves as one of the communication areas. In addition, everlasting motion is symbolised by a fascinating "water wall".
The presentation of the products using the very latest media technology is as innovative as the products themselves. There are QR codes on the touch screens near the exhibits and in the GEZE fair brochure, allowing visitors to view product features and technical data on their smartphones. You will find an overview of the highlights of the fair presentation below.
Door Technology
The entire TS 5000 freeswing door closer range and the integrated freeswing door closer GEZE Boxer EFS for single and double-leaf doors have been further developed in terms of both technology and design. A new feature is that the free-swing door closers can now be used on barrier-free fire protection doors up to the high closing force size EN 6 and on door leaves up to 1400 millimetres wide. The new hold-open function, which can also be retrofitted, permits the door to be slightly fixed at the end of the freeswing area without affecting the closing function in the event of a fire.
With the compact Levolan 60 sliding door system, GEZE has created a new elegant solution to design easy-to-use, manual sliding doors for interior use. The new draw-in damping SoftStopDuo now allows double-sided damping even of slim door leaves. SoftStopDuo can also be used for the sliding door systems Rollan, Perlan and Levolan 150. The new Levolan 60 Smart fix installation system makes the installation of Levolan 60 fast and straightforward.
Automatic Door Systems
"Invisible" barrier freedom and convenient passage are provided by the new integrated swing door drive ECturn Inside. Its small dimensions allow it to be integrated into the door leaf of internal doors. The ECturn Inside does not affect door design and opens and closes high-quality doors automatically and "invisibly". The new automatic revolving door system TSA 325 NT RC2 provides burglar resistance tested in accordance with EN without downgrading the look. The innovative GEZEconnects software and rapid Bluetooth radio transmission mean that the automatic sliding, swing and revolving door systems from GEZE can be programmed and maintained both simply and efficiently.

RWA and Window Technology

GEZE is presenting a new generation of chain drives. The drives ECchain, Slimchain, Powerchain and the E 920 - E 990 series are the response to modern building technology requirements, because every drive corresponds to quite special usage requirements. Together with the respective locking drives E 905 / E 906 and Power lock, they form a complete product family in the consistent GEZE design. The Slimchain, Powerchain, E 920 - E 990 series and spindle drive E 250 NT have been equipped with the very latest control technology. This allows the drives to be adapted precisely to various requirements in ventilation and RWA modes. The control technology offers the basis for networking several windows in one façade, thus allowing the implementation of intelligent window controls.

Glass Systems
Partition wall systems made of glass create an open and transparent room design. The Pendulo System allows the realisation of generous double-action doors as well as of fanlights and fixed panels. The new configuration tool developed for the Pendulo System significantly simplifies project planning and processing as well as ordering. Only few specifications are necessary to configure automatically the required glass system together with the system components lists and all related drawings.

Safety Systems
The GEZE SecuLogic access control system has been extended by two optional interface solutions: the Alarm Unit GCAU 200 combines access control with a building's alarm technology. The activation and deactivation of alarm systems can thus take place through the access control system. Controlled access via building lifts is possible using the new relay module GCOC 8 as a lift control unit. The relay module can be used to organise and allocate authorisation for using lifts and thus authorisation for accessing individual floors.
The anti-panic lock IQ lock AUT is a multifunctional system solution for full panic doors with automatic door leaves on both sides. This means that both active and fixed leaves can be unlocked by a motor drive. Due to the full panic function, both door leaves can be unlocked mechanically at the same time in an emergency by pressing the panic bar. After passage through the door, the mechanical self-locking feature becomes active, locking the door quickly and securely. The automatic unlocking feature makes the system extremely flexible. In combination with double-leaf swing door drives, the IQ lock AUT safely opens both door leaves even where multiple requirements such as barrier-free passage, access control and the function as RWA fresh air opening are made on emergency exit doors.

Building Systems
GEZE rounds off the presentation of its system expertise with the GEZE building system for door, window and safety technology. The system can be used for actuation, servicing and parameter setting. A universal interface allows communication of the building system with all standard bus systems used in building system technology, and thus the quick and simple networking of the GEZE building system with higher-order building management systems. With the help of the GEZE Cockpit App, users can remotely visualise and operate the state of the windows and doors connected to the building system.

GEZE at the BAU 2013 in Munich from 14 - 19 January 2013 in Hall B1, Stand 538.

GEZE in motion since 1863! In line with this motto GEZE GmbH will be presenting numerous innovations at BAU 2013 – the year of the company's 150th anniversary – which use cutting-edge technology, functionality and design to set door, window and safety technology in motion.
When GEZE sets windows and doors in motion it relies on ground-breaking behind-the-scenes technology that responds to the current and future needs of users, planners and technicians. An inherent part of GEZE's innovative strength is therefore not only new key technological features, but also sustainability aspects and the consideration given to the effects of demographic change, such as universal access for instance.
GEZE is rounding off its portfolio in all product areas by presenting new product solutions in the field of door technology and automatic door systems, glass systems, smoke and heat extraction and ventilation systems, as well as in the field of safety technology. Of course all the new features showcase GEZE's uniform consistent design and therefore meet the most exacting visual aesthetic standards.
We will be showcasing integrated, comprehensive system solutions from one source, that fulfil the specific requirements made of doors and windows within complex systems in all areas of buildings. Multi-functionality which combines, for instance, the controlling of the opening and closing processes of a door in escape and rescue routes with universal access, increased protection against burglary, fire and smoke protection, and natural smoke and heat exhaust as well as access management, offers the user the highest possible level of safety, comfort and efficiency. Very simple installation and numerous additional service features also contribute to this goal.
A key theme for GEZE at the trade fair is the networking of user-friendly system solutions that are integrated in a building system and can be centrally controlled. The networking and central control together with the monitoring of all automated doors and windows in the building, as well as of externally sourced components such as light and shading control systems, guarantee efficiency and comfort.
Innovation and progress – technological advances – these have been key guiding principles for GEZE for 150 years now. See for yourself by visiting the GEZE exhibition stand!
